Well, about 14 and 1/2 months after the birth of our baby girl, Abby, my wife and I decided that one, apparently, wasn't enough! So we had ourselves a BIG baby boy, named Charlie who weighed in at 10 lbs 4 oz and 22 1/2 inches long!!! My wife just earned her honorary doctorate in child birthing for delivering that chunk of a little boy.
He was born on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. That makes him a Taurus, the Bull, and that fits appropriately for his size! He may be bulldozing a few people later on in life as a linebacker if that size holds up.
He's peaceful and content, a quiet cool (for now). Truly another blessing for my wife Leslie and I, and his big sister Abby. The proud grandparents are my mother and father, Rick and Debbie Thrift, and Leslie's parents, Jim and Brenda Bowen. The great grandparents are Joanne and Charles "Blackie" Thrift and Frank and Cathlene Milburn.
I also want to acknowledge some others who are no longer with us in this world, but very much alive in the hereafter:
In loving memory:
Great grandmother Rebecca Bowen (1922-2010)
Great grandmother Mildred Smith (1918-1998)
Grandmother Sharon Bowen (1954-1993)
Great grandfather Carson Bowen (1981)
Great grandfather Charlie Smith (1918-1974)
We all love you very much, Charlie!
I told you he was a hoss! Enjoy the pics!
